Jake Gyllenhaal was put in the hot seat on "The Howard Stern Show" on Wednesday -- where talk quickly turned to his famous ex, Taylor Swift.
It started innocently enough, with Stern asking Jake if he realized "Good Morning America" had him walk out to one of Swift's songs, "Bad Blood," when he appeared on the morning show earlier this week.
"First of all, I did not hear that," Jake replied. "When I'm doing an interview when you're up at 5 a.m. and you can't really make sense of words, you're not thinking about the background music that's playing behind you."
"I'm sure they have so much music on that show playing all the time. It's just one of those things," Jake added, defending the show.
When asked if he would have recognized a Taylor Swift song had he noticed the music, he replied, "Of course."
Then Stern took the conversation to another level ... telling Jake, "You should have married Taylor Swift. What a power couple!"
Howard added that he's "super attracted" to the "Shake It Off" singer, as Jake chimed in that she's a "beautiful girl."
Stern and Robin Quivers then said he had a song written about him. His coy response: "Do I? I don't know"
The two later prodded Gyllenhaal about his dating life in general, asking if he's ever proposed to someone (No, not yet) and how many times he's been in love.
"Three times, twice," he added, without specifying who he was talking about. "I just got scared," he continued, when asked why he didn't pull the trigger on marriage.
Check out what else he had to say about past relationships in the clip below:
