Caitlyn Jenner has a sense of humor about herself.
While many websites exploded in outrage when Halloween costumes inspired by the reality star's Vanity Fair cover started popping up on various retail outlets, Jenner herself isn't offended in the least.
"I'm in on the joke. No, I don't think it's offensive at all," she says in a new interview with Matt Lauer. "I know the community does, and they've gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it's great."
One online petition against one particular version of the costume said that it "reduces that person and community to a stereotype for privileged people to abuse," adding that the get-up will be used to "make fun of [Caitlyn] and our community."
While Jenner says the idea of the costume doesn't bother her, the actual construction of some of the looks does.
"To be honest with you, I think it's great — except they could have a better-looking outfit for them," she says on "Today." "I mean, that was a serious bustier on the cover of Vanity Fair. I mean, at least get some good clothes. You've got to enjoy life. Life's too short. I can't get too upset about that type of stuff."
