Though you wouldn't know it judging by her FOMO-inducing vacation pics, Britney Spears had a near-death experience during her recent trip to Hawaii.
In an interview with BBC Radio's Scott Mills, the 34-year-old revealed she almost drowned while going for a swim during her island getaway.
"I completely embarrassed myself ... I went out and I thought it was, like, a wave pool, and I was like, 'This is so nice and refreshing and just beautiful,'" she told the DJ. "But the thing I didn't think about is when you come back, the waves really come in hard."
So hard that the mother-of-two was thought she was going to die.
"I got sucked under for, like, five minutes," she said. "Literally, almost drowned. And I'm like, 'Where is my security? They're just going to let me die here, you know.'"
Throughout the harrowing experience, Spears kept hoping her security team would come to the rescue, but they were nowhere to be found as she was continually overwhelmed by the waves.

"And then I came in again and another wave took me under," she explained. "They just kind of left me there. I think they knew I could probably survive my way through it."
And survive she did—all with the ability to look back at the experience and laugh about it.
"It was fun to say the least, and I got the experience of getting taken down by a 6-ft. wave," Brit Brit joked.
Near-death experience aside, the "Make Me" singer appears to have enjoyed her time off, as evidenced by her Instagram shots documenting her fun in the sun. Spears, who has said she's in the best shape of her life thanks to her Las Vegas residency, even took the time to share a racy topless pic during her vacay.
Still, she can't wrap her head around the nude pics that surfaced of Justin Bieber during his recent vacation in Bora Bora.
"Did you see what happened to him, the other day, didn't he, like, expose himself?" Spears wondered out loud. "That was insane. I don't understand, like, what went on there. Was that on the news and stuff? … Oh my God."
You can catch Spears at the MTV VMAs this Sunday, when she returns to the award show stage for the first time in nine years.
