Mark Wahlberg was slammed over his halftime departure during Sunday night's Super Bowl, but he didn't leave for the fair weather fan reasons that social media trolls assumed.
"I had to leave the game early because my youngest son wasn't feeling well," Wahlberg said in an Instagram post. "Trust me, I would have loved to be at the stadium -- but family first. Doesn't mean I don't love my Patriots too!"
The "Transformers" actor took serious heat on social media after he was photographed leaving at halftime before his favorite team could catch up and claim one of the greatest Super Bowl victories in its 51-year history.
