Everything that could could go wrong did in the first moments of the Grammy Awards. But, unlike the Golden Globe Awards, this time it was actually planned.
Host James Corden followed up Adele's opening performance by fumbling all over the stage at the Staples Center on Sunday night.
First, his rise out of the floor broke down, as he was left crawling out of the hole in the ground. He then fell down the stairs, lost a shoe and botched his dance moves.
"I said stop! This is a disaster. We have rehearsed this and rehearsed this and rehearsed this," he shouted to his backup dancers. "We cannot allow these sort of mistakes can we? This is the Grammys people, isn't it?"
It was a clumsy start, but one he redeemed with an epic rap about all the show's performers, including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Drake.
