Long story short, gay reality shows have had quite the TV history so far. From dating shows featuring straight suitors playing gay for the chance to win money to a "Bachelor"-esque series starring a guy who discloses his secret escort past, they've certainly delivered drama --but not necessarily for all the right reasons.
And by the look of this new trailer, Logo's upcoming "Fire Island" looks no different. The network's latest offering chronicles the wild nights and sun-soaked days of a group of gay men spending their summer at the titular New York locale.
The sneak peek promises bed-hopping, jock straps and a bevy of well-sculpted men having the time of their lives at what one of them dubs "gay Disneyland."
Meet the boys in the video above and read press release about the series below:
From Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos' Milojo Productions, "Fire Island" is a docuseries following a group of young, New York City professionals who leave behind the stress of their big city lives and escape to the magical sun-soaked oasis that is Fire Island Pines. The series, like a love letter to "the Pines," highlights the adventures and relationships of aspirational island-goers as they experience the magic and excitement of the landmark location.
"Fire Island" is executive produced by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos' Milojo Productions along with Albert Bianchini and Lenid Rolov. Pamela Post and Tim Palazzola serve as Executive Producers and Jen Passovoy serves as Producer for Logo.
"'Fire Island' is an exciting new addition to Logo's slate and perfectly complements the stories our audience craves," said Pamela Post, SVP of Original Programing for Logo. "We're thrilled to give it a home alongside yet another incredible season of intense competition on 'RuPaul's Drag Race.'"
The premiere date for "Fire Island" is TBD.
