Marvel Fans Shred ABC's 'Inhumans' Costumes as 'Discount Halloween Store S--t,' 'Bad Cosplay' (Photo)

In fact, some were downright repulsed by the costumes the characters were wearing in the Entertainment Weekly sneak peek, which was shared on social media in the worst way possible.

Descriptions of the costumes TooFab found floating around on Twitter included "discount Halloween store shit" and "bad cosplay."

The comment section on the EW article wasn't much kinder. Here are a few gems we spotted right at the top:

"Big Marvel fan. But that photo is baaaad"

"Seriously, worse than I thought. Why they turned Medusa into a redhead version of Morticia Addams is beyond my understanding"

"Wow. That is embarrassing and looks like a group of first time cosplayers at best. This is really, really bad."

"Holy crap that looks TERRIBLE. It looks like a bad super hero movie from the 90's."

The new comic book adaptation, which was originally set to be a movie before Marvel Studios scrapped it, follows a family of hybrid alien-human superbeings. Cast includes Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Ken Leung as Karnak, Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, and Iwan Rheon as Maximus. If you're an avid Marvel comic book reader, these characters are probably familiar to you. If not, then the only thing you'll probably care about is how terrible the costumes look.

And they're going to be on IMAX screens when the first two episodes premiere in theaters on Sept. 1. Let's hope they add some fancy VFX to spiff up those costumes. In the meantime, here's a sample of what people are saying about them.
