Dorinda Medley was the only "Real Housewives of New York" star to attend Luann and Tom D'Agostino's wedding, and she's the first to wish them best after their divorce was announced.
"It's always a sad thing when a marriage doesn't work, and I hope everyone respects their privacy during this sad time. I wish them both the best," Dorinda told TooFab Thursday just minutes after Luann tweeted the bad news.
"It's with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce," Luann wrote after just seven months of marriage to Tom. "We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!"
'RHONY' Stars LuAnn and Tom D'Agostino Are Getting Divorced
View StoryDorinda served as one of Luann's six bridesmaids at the Palm Beach wedding. And while fans saw a calm, cool and collected Countess during the New Year's Eve nuptials on the show, Medley told TooFab just last month that the wedding day "jitters" definitely got to the bride.
"What's funny is Luann was actually a little bit nervous before she walked down the aisle," Dorinda said when asked to reveal what we didn't see on TV. "I was really surprised. She kind of had these jitters, like, she was a nervous bride."
Dorinda Reveals Luann Wedding Moment You Didn't See on 'RHONY'
View StoryLuann's fellow "RHONY" cast members had been warning her for months prior to the wedding that she might be making a mistake. Bethenny Frankel dropped what might be the the biggest bomb of last season when she showed Luann a picture of Tom kissing another woman while he was engaged to Luann.
Dorinda told TooFab she believed that incident was "the worst of it," adding that the women should have backed off because Luann and Tom discussed the situation and "made a decision to stay together."
"The fact that these women were still going on about it was a bit ridiculous," she said. "She clearly loves him. At some point, you gotta just... What are you doing? I just couldn't get my head around it. I mean she literally at that point was leaving to go to basically Palm Beach in a week to get married. There was nothing really there. It was all old stuff – rehashing of old stuff. And why is everybody so concerned? She's a grown up. If she was going to make the decision not to be with him, she would've made it right after the whole debacle."
"Have you seen them together? They're so happy together. Leave them alone. Let them be happy," she added.
'Real Housewives' Star Luann D'Agostino Denies Marriage Trouble on 'WWHL': 'It's Gossip' (Video)
View StoryLuann's divorce announcement comes just weeks after she vehemently denied there was any trouble in paradise during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live." Andy Cohen addressed what he called "the elephant in the room," asking her about a Page Six article that alleged her marriage was "hanging by a thread" and that she slapped Tom in a restaurant in Palm Beach.
"Oh, my God, that's so not right," Luann said. "I did not slap him. We have a very passionate love affair going. And let me tell you, we never go to bed angry, but when we do, when we wake up, we make up."
Cohen pointed out that her statement was a bit contradictory.
"So then you don't never go to bed angry," Cohen replied before grilling her again about the alleged slap.
"It's gossip. Come on. It's gossip," she fired back, "I took his face in a very loving way, and people took it as a slap."
