Twitter Gangs Up on Trump With #NaziBucketChallenge -- But What Is It Exactly?

The #NaziBucketChallenge is trending on Twitter right now, but unfortunately, it has nothing to do with dumping buckets of ice-cold water over Nazis' heads.

The "challenge" is simply a bunch of social media users explaining who they are and declaring President Donald Trump a white supremacist.

"I'm a grouchy, old, angry, white guy veteran and even I can see that Trump is a goddamn white supremacist a-hole. #NaziBucketChallenge," one user tweeted

The hashtag, a play off of the #IceBucketChallenge phenomenon that took over social media back in 2014, began trending days after ESPN host Jemele Hill referred to POTUS as "a white supremacist" on her personal Twitter account.

"Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists," she tweeted. "The height of white privilege is being able to ignore his white supremacy, because it's of no threat to you. Well, it's a threat to me."

"Trump is the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime. His rise is a direct result of white supremacy. Period," Hill's series of tweets continued. "He is unqualified and unfit to be president. He is not a leader. And if he were not white, he never would have been elected."

ESPN issued a public apology, and Hill later addressed "the elephant in the room."

"My comments on Twitter expressed my personal beliefs," she tweeted Wednesday. "My regret is that my comments and the public way I made them painted ESPN in an unfair light. My respect for the company and my colleagues remains unconditional."

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders even called for ESPN to fire the host for her "outrageous comments," but the network refused.

On Friday morning, Trump personally bashed ESPN and demanded the sports network "apologize for untruth."
