'Love Is Dead': Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Split Sparks Emotional Breakdowns on Twitter

The pain is real as two of America's sweethearts, who met on the set of "Step Up," step out as exes.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are separating after nine years of marriage, and predictably, there are a lot of people taking to Twitter to prove we really care entirely too much about celebrity relationships.

The couple even pointed this out in their statement: "First off, it feels odd that we have to share this kind of thing with everyone, but it’s a consequence of the lives we’ve chosen to lead."

And as a consequence of them living their lives, digital tears are flowing on social media in the form of crying emojis, GIFs and memes.

Perhaps this Hollywood breakup is hitting pop culture vultures extra hard in wake of so many other seemingly rock-steady celebrity marriages failing. As many on Twitter pointed out while mourning the Tatums, we recently lost couples Chris Pratt and Anna Faris, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. All eyes are now on one of the internet's favorite star couple, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, as it seems an entire generation's faith in true love is resting on their shoulders. No pressure, guys.

As we inevitably ponder and dig for answers as to what went wrong in Channing and Jenna's relationship (According to them, “There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision"), let's take a moment of silence to observe, point and laugh at and/or with the following people who care entirely too much about some couple they've likely never met before.
