Dorit Kemsley insists that heat and tequila -- not any beef -- were at fault for the infamous "stupid c-nt" comment she hurled at Camille Grammer on this season of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
"There was no intention behind it," Dorit told "Entertainment Tonight" on Tuesday. "It was so out of left field that one would've thought it may not have even made [the show] because there was nothing behind it, but here's to being a rookie and you realize, of course it's gonna make [the show]!"
Dorit Kemsley and Camille Grammer Feud Over Unaired 'RHOBH' Scene
View StoryWhen Dorit let the C-word loose during an earlier episode of "RHOBH," the ladies were all at Kyle Richards' house for dinner. They were drinking and Kyle's air conditioning wasn't working, which Dorit said had a lot to do with her judgment lapse.
"It was 100 degrees, the power was out, I was there an hour and a half before the other women, I was with my husband, I'm at one of my best friends' houses," she explained. "I'm so relaxed at Kyle's house and with them, and I have a lot of fun with the ladies both on and off camera. Just maybe one too many tequilas that night."
Camille, however, did not take the comment lightly and actually gifted Dorit a ball gag during a later episode to help Dorit "shut [her] mouth."
'RHOBH' Tea Time: Camille Grammer Gives Dorit Kemsley Erotic Gift to Send Stern Message -- 'Shut Your Mouth'
View Story"I never had any issues with Camille," Dorit said. "It was just a very silly moment that unfortunately happened, and you have to sort of pay the price afterwards."
But Camille definitely has issues with Dorit -- and even some with Lisa Vanderpump -- because she told TooFab back in January that she felt Lisa was the brains behind the comment.
"If you watch the show, right before it, Lisa Vanderpump said something like, 'Dorit, do you have anything to say?'" Camille explained to TooFab. "And she goes, 'Oh, I have a lot to say.' So I'm like, 'Was she led into saying this stuff?' I'm suspicious [of Lisa Vanderpump]."
Why Camille Grammer Thinks Lisa Vanderpump Was Behind Dorit Kemsley's 'Stupid C-nt' Jab (Exclusive)
View StoryCamille added that she was taken aback by the insult because she and Dorit had never had any issues up until that point.
"I was very surprised because there was no reason for her to say that," Camille said. "It's embarrassing to hear the 'stupid C-word' thrown your way for no reason. If I had done something to her, then I'd understand, but it's still a nasty word. She talked over everybody, she was exhausting to listen to, and she thinks very highly of herself. She said she was joking, she said blame it on the alcohol, but there was something else behind it. You just don't blurt that out to somebody for no reason. They do say that when people drink wine, the truth comes out. So maybe there was something there."
"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Season 8 finale airs Tuesday, April 17 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
