Demi Lovato dropped a surprise, somber single on Thursday morning, where she seemingly revealed she's relapsed after six years of sobriety.
The singer posted a tweet to the new song, titled "Sober," earlier today, along with a tweet simply stating, "My truth." Throughout the song, she apologizes to those who may be disappointed in her for slipping, while showing photos and video of her partying with friends.

View Story"I got no excuses, for all of these goodbyes / Call me when it's over, 'cause I'm dying inside," she sings. "Wake me when the shakes are gone and the cold sweats disappear / Call me when it's over and myself has reappeared."
Looking to her family, she continues, "Momma, I'm so sorry I'm not sober anymore, and Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor / To the ones who never left me, we've been down this road before, I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore."

The song ends with Lovato singing, "I'm sorry that I'm here again, I promise I'll get help / It wasn't my intention, I'm sorry to myself."
Lovato has been extremely forthcoming about her battles with both substance abuse and bipolar disorder, opening up about both in her 2017 YouTube documentary, "Simply Complicated."
While she was a judge on "The X Factor," Lovato would go home every night to a sober living home. "You have to lean into the people who are trying to support you," she explained. "You really have to surrender because that's when the change is going to happen."
Back in March, she also spoke with Billboard about her disastrous time at the 2016 Met Gala and explained why fashion's biggest night drove her straight to attending an AA meeting.

View Story"I had a terrible experience," she said, with the author noting how Lovato's voice rose in pitch "for the only time during [their] conversation."
"This one celebrity was a complete bitch and was miserable to be around," Lovato explained. "It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink."
According to Lovato, she went to a 10 p.m. Alcoholics Anonymous meeting right after the event. "I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds on -- millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting," she explained. "And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala -- fake and sucking the fashion industry's dick."
