Mama June will always protect her family no matter what.
On Friday night's episode "Mama June: From Not To Hot," June attended a mediation with Sugar Bear, who wants to spend more time with his daughter Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson. And she didn't hesitate to hold anything back.

View StoryBefore the meeting, June was anxious as she knew that it was possibly going to turn into a heated argument. She first brought it up to Alana to see how she felt about it.
"Well you know this mediation B.S.? Sugar Bear called me, he scheduled another mediation," June said. "It's like about you, but also he's the one that needs to prove to you that he wants to be in your life."
Honey Boo Boo was adamant about attending the mediation, because it's about her after all. However, Mama June was not okay with her daughter attending the "mediation bullshit," which is for the adults.
"All they do in mediation is fight about me, but they never let me go," Alana said angrily in a confessional. "If you're gonna talk about me, you should let me go."
"It can get kinda ugly," Mama June warned to her daughter. "You're starting to get in the healing process of getting over the situation emotionally."
"He either step up or step out," she continued. "And I feel like every time he tries to step up, he steps out and disappoints you."

"When I'm with Mom she talks about Dad and when I'm with Dad, he talks about my mom," she said. "And I really don't know what to do anymore...Maybe Sugar Bear really does want to see me."
"Some people can change you never know," Alana said hopefully.

Although her mother said that she couldn't attend the mediation, Alana snuck in the car anyway.
"I need to go to mediation, because I've never told my dad how I really feel and I wrote it all down in a letter and I want to tell him and if I do maybe this can change our relationship that we have," she said. "It's my father so I feel like I should have a say so."
June agreed to let Alana come along with her, but she would have to stay outside with her boyfriend Geno.
"[Sugar Bear] is one unpredictable explosive redneck and I'm going to protect Alana no matter what," June said. "He says he's going to do something and he never does."
When June walked inside the meeting room which included the lawyer, Sugar Bear and his wife Jennifer, and herself, she was prepared for battle, but tried to stay calm.
Sugar Bear began to say that he wants more time with Alana and that he was ready to be a father. Mama June was not buying any of it.
"I'm tired of pushing [Alana] to her father when she doesn't want a goddamn thing to do with him because he's not f-f--king consistent," she yelled.
"This is total bullshit," June added in a confessional. "How many times do we have to tell the same story over and over again. He says he's going to do something and he never does. I'm tired of it honestly."
But Jennifer wanted to defend her husband and for June to let Alana give Sugar Bear a second chance.
"In your heart, you got to give Mike a chance to see Alana and stay the hell out if it," she warned.
After Jennifer said that, Mama June went off.
"You know I'm done. I'm through with your shit," she said. "I'm done. Because it's like until you can be a goddamn father to Alana stay the f--k away from her and stop f--king telling her he's gonna be."
Mama June got up and left.
"I never get this mad or angry unless it's about my kids safety or happiness and Sugar Bear is threatening both," she said. "Right now I'm feeling helpless and I hate that more than anything."
After June calmed down, she returned to the room and told Sugar Bear that Alana was right outside and she was ready to tell her side of the story. It's all about Alana after all.
"She is so ready to say some things to him," June said to her ex. "She begged me to come today. Alana's voice will be heard."
Enter J.J. Smith
On a lighter note, earlier in the episode Mama June and Honey Boo Boo received a surprise guest at their door: a new pageant coach.
The mother daughter duo are just eight weeks away from their big return to the pageant world and they have a lot of work to do. J.J. Smith, a Fabio looking, spray-tanned, pageant expert was just what they needed -- even if they won't admit it.
Smith was ready to make the ladies work and began to point out what they had to work on. Mama June needed to shave her armpits. As Smith's number one pageant rule is to be "snipped, clipped, and dipped."
Both June and Alana gave their best pageant walk for Smith, and he was not impressed.
"I'm melting. We're gonna do a whole revamp," he said. "We're not the Clydesdales."
"A beauty queen must be poised and graceful, always and at all times," Smith said proudly.
June was happy to have a new coach, Alana on the other hand, wasn't feeling it, especially because Smith said that she was too old to go by Honey Boo Boo. The two definitely clashed.
"Don't try me," Smith warned. "I'm here to put a crown on your head and that's what I do best and if you aren't gonna get serious then I'm going to go back to Texas where I got lots and lots of beauty queens waiting."
"I'm Honey Boo Boo and I have tons of crowns," Alana snapped back.
"Honey Boo Boo has a lot of kids crowns and Honey Boo Boo is not who you you are anymore, you are 12," he said. "You're growing into Alana and we're gonna bump you up to a new division, you with me or you not?"
