'Big Brother' Blowout: Julie Chen Moonves Presides Over Wildest Eviction Episode in Weeks

Well, that was an exciting hour of "Big Brother," kicked off with Julie Chen Moonves once again using her married name in support of her ousted husband, former CBS CEO Les Moonves.

Les Moonves was let go by CBS after a dozen women came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against the television executive. He has denied the charges. Meanwhile, Julie Chen Moonves quit her other CBS gig, "The Talk," but has opted to remain as host of "Big Brother."

The taut episode was a surprise eviction for the Houseguests, which meant we got to see a Power of Veto competition, an eviction and the crowning of the next Head of Household. With JC and Sam on the ropes, they needed a victory in one of those competitions to forestall the inevitable.

Unfortunately for both of them, the fates have not been kind to anyone other than Level 6 this season. Add in the fact that JC and Sam have never won a competition before, while Level 6 has been cleaning up in that area, and it looked grim indeed.

But never say never.

"We're going to run this season like you'd run a department store. Each product, or Houseguest, may have come in with equal value, but pretty quickly you start to see that certain ones aren't working. First, you try discounting them to see if they can turn things around and become solid performers again. But if that doesn't work, it's time to put them on clearance so you can sell them out (the door). With that said, let's take a look at our inventory, ranked from our strongest performer to our weakest. But first, let's take a look at a couple of new spotlight items in stock this week."

Kaycee is building an impressive resume with POV victories, and if she can secure one more, she'll have the ultimate say as to who sits in the Final Three with her. All of these wins are going to look great to the jury, and so is the straightforward game she has played. Is Kaycee unbeatable? She's certainly got a very strong case, but how well can she present it, and defend herself against a potentially bitter jury.

Of course, she didn't use the Veto because Level 6 needed those nominations to stay the same. The big question was whether to reward JC's loyalty with one more stay of execution, or to boot him because he's a potentially bigger threat. In the end, they rewarded loyalty and sent Sam packing.

Within minutes, by show time at least, you could see all three of them regretting that decision as JC rolled through the popular "What the Bleep?" HOH competition and secured his first win of the season. It was the most exciting thing to happen in so long ... we can't even remember a time when everything wasn't going Level 6's way. Winston? Rachel, maybe? Who were they?

If you're going to pick the right time to show up, it is when you are up against the only other three people in the house. JC may not know that Tyler, Angela and Kaycee have a Final Three deal as Level 6, but it doesn't matter. He just broke that all apart and now they'll be forced to eat one of their own, which should be interesting to watch.

Even more intriguing, we get to see what happens when they aren't able to control every variable in the house. Even they don't remember what that's like, as they've taken control even in weeks when they didn't have power. Now, there's just nothing to do but finally turn on one another.

Tyler (up 1) has the strongest case with the jury, and now that at least a couple of his allies will be on it, he stands a better chance of winning over a potentially bitter jury with compelling arguments. Plus, he genuinely seems to feel bad about this part of the game, so if he can sell that emotion, his gameplay is more than worthy of the prize. That said, keeping JC was clearly a huge mistake and it could cost him.

Kaycee (down 1) is the Veto beast and has played a much more direct and clean game. For the most part, she's just kept nominations the same week in and week out, so the blood has mostly been on the hands of Tyler and Angela. A bitter jury might reward her for seemingly staying clean, when we all know that Level 6 has made all of their moves together. If they respect gameplay, Tyler and Angela look like they have more of it, but Angela didn't really befriend anyone in the house, which will hurt.

JC (up 1) may be the current Head of Household, but it is his only competition win. He's a good speaker, so he stands a chance of arguing that the mental torture games he played all season are why he made it as far as he did, should he make it it to the Final 2 (but it will take another comp win). He didn't see the block until just this past week, and no one is angry at him inside the house (America has their issues, but they don't vote). But will people respect his more subtle gameplay over the more brash moves of Level 6?

Angela (down 1) is probably going to be JC's target, because he's been gunning for her for a long time. He thinks she has a Final 2 with Kaycee and doesn't seem to think he can beat her in the end. He's underestimating, though, how disliked Angela is by the jury. Everyone wants her out of that House. On the other hand, being the one who hands her to them, might be a big vote in his favor as well.

Sam (even) is a character, but it was really only a matter of time.

The "What the Bleep" game is one of the cleanest and dirtiest games that "Big Brother" plays. Clips from the season are censored the way Jimmy Kimmel would do it, to make them sound really raunchy. So we thought it would be fun to memorialize this season's quotes so you can relive all the dirty thoughts you'll deny you had while watching.
