The actress was seated by her sister Dakota when she suddenly went unconscious, falling out of her seat.

It was a scary moment Monday night at a Cannes Film Festival dinner party when actress Elle Fanning passed out and fell out of her chair.

Fanning was seated at the Chopard Trophee dinner, according to Variety, when festival director Thierry Fremaux was introducing actor Francois Civil onstage.

At that moment, the "Maleficent" actress reportedly collapsed and fell off of her chair. The outlet says it was her sister Dakota, seated beside her, who first rushed to her aid before both women were escorted from the room and a momentary quiet fell over the proceedings.

It wasn't too long after this, though, that Elle was back on social media with a triumphant thumbs up, letting her fans and followers know that she's okay. In her post, the actress blamed a combination of her dress and that "time of the month" for the momentary blackout.

While Fanning looked stunning in her 1950's Prada prom dress, we were still happy to see her in a more relaxed button-up shirt in her update photo. Chic is one thing, but breathing will always be more important.

"Where's your smelling salts when you need em?" joked January Jones in the comments, while Kiernan Shipka heaped praise on the young star, writing, "You're a literal icon."

At 21-years old, Elle is the youngest jury member at this year's film festival. At a press conference last week for the festival, as covered by MSN, Fanning acknowledged her youth, as well as her many years in the business.

She explained that she "feels proud to represent a young voice in this festival and get to be a young audience member and view the movies from those eyes."
