Why Nicki Minaj Got Fired from Red Lobster, As She Gets Redemption on 'Tonight Show'

Nicki Minaj's Red Lobster date night with Jimmy Fallon turned into a second chance for the rapper, as she got redemption for being fired from the establishment before she was famous.

After the "Tonight Show" host revealed he's never eaten at the restaurant in his life, he and Minaj hit up the Times Square location and tried literally everything on the menu. While there, she revealed her less-than-stellar past with the chain.

"I have worked at a couple Red Lobsters and I have been fired from all 3 or 4 of them," she explained. When asked later what happened, she laid it out in detail.

"I walked up to this lady, her and her boyfriend and walked out of the restaurant, they took my pen and they didn't tip me," she told Fallon. "I walked to the car, I banged on the car window and I said, give me my pen! I started going like this [flipping them off] and my manager fired me on the spot."

Fallon said she should have told the manager she was simply "trying to get restaurant property back," before giving another shot at success.

The duo then threw on some uniforms and surprised patrons on the upper level, serving them seafood with a smile ... and an inappropriate joke or two.

"This reminds me of when I was in college, because I had muscles and I had crabs once," cracked Fallon.

The video ended with Minaj being given an honor we'd kill for: A card granting her free Cheddar Bay Biscuits for life.
