People not only freaked out on social media over Stoner's surprise appearance, but it had them feeling extremely nostalgic and emotional.

Alyson Stoner can still "Work It" like it's 2002.

The dancer and actress, now 26, sent fans into a frenzy on Twitter after she appeared on stage during Missy Elliott's epic Vanguard performance at the MTV VMAs Monday night, 17 years after famously starring in Elliott's "Work It" video when she was just 10.

When Elliott went up to accept her award she proved just how much she values the contributions of dancers like Stoner and said, "I want to dedicate this award to the dance community all around the world because when y'all get on the stage with these artists, y'all are not just props. Y'all are the icing on the cake, y'all are the beat to the heart."

People not only freaked out on social media over Stoner's surprise appearance, but it had them feeling extremely nostalgic and emotional.

"ALYSON STONER IS DANCING FOR MISSY ELLIOTT AGAIN these kids are too young to know how epic that shit was," a fan wrote.

"I could cry I'm feeling so nostalgic," a person tweeted and another added, "Missy brought ALYSON STONER BACK. ICONIC."
