"I’m just literally sooooo tired of being ashamed of my body, editing it ... so that others think I'm THEIR idea of what beautiful is," the singer captions her latest IG post.
Believe nothing you see on the internet. Demi Lovato came clean with her fans on Thursday night about the viral bikini pics she released in May, confessing that she had digitally edited the pics.
Not only did she admit that she had edited those pics, which were clicked on more than 4 million times, the singer faced her "biggest fear" and shared an unaltered picture of it in an attempt to reclaim her body confidence.

View StoryBut with this post, Demi is looking to start a new chapter in her life; one where she lives her unaltered truth and embraces her true beauty, rather than hide behind a digital self that she can only look at and judge herself against.
"I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else's standards," Demi continued in her post. "Here's me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me when I hopefully give birth one day."
And really that's all that positive body advocates want from people. Your body is a miracle and you should celebreate it for the miracle it is. And perhaps the most beautiful thing of all is that no one else has one just like it. It is beautiful and miraculous and uniquely, wonderfully yours. So embrace it and learn to love everything about it, including what makes it different.
For Demi, a healthier outlook about her body is a healthier outlook overall. "It's such a great feeling to be back in tv/film while not stressing myself with a strenuous workout schedule before 14 hour days, or depriving myself from a real birthday cake rather than opting for watermelon & whip cream with candles because I was terrified of REAL cake and was miserable on some crazy diet shit," she wrote.

Learning to love yourself is a process and not something that can change overnight. Demi made it very clear that even though she was taking the brave step of sharing her unaltered body with the world, this is just one step in her own self-acceptance. And while words of affirmation and support poured in from her fans, the only words of affirmation and support that matter will be her own.
In celebration of the unaltered pic, Demi declared that her body is "cellu-lit" with an emphasis on LIT!
Taking this step in the public eye where so many young girls, and boys, can see it is also pretty lit. One of the best things for the rest of us, such as it is, to see and know is that celebrities really are just like us in every way that matters, cellu-lit and all!
