"It was hard. It was really difficult," Lauren recalled.
"Jersey Shore" star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and his wife Lauren are opening up about a difficult loss.
While appearing on GMA's third-hour "Strahan, Sara & Keke" Monday, Lauren revealed she recently suffered a miscarriage, calling it "heart wrenching."

View StoryAccording to Lauren, the couple conceived the night Mike was released from federal prison back in September, after he served eight months for tax fraud.
"While Mike was away I was tracking my cycle and all of that," Lauren began. "And it worked out perfectly that when he came home I was ovulating within two days."
"So the night he came home we actually conceived," she continued. "And then at about six-and-a-half, seven weeks I miscarried."
"It was heart wrenching," she added. "When I found out we were pregnant I felt like this is why we went through all these challenges for years and that this was our time and it was our blessing...It was hard. It was really difficult."
Lauren said she decided to talk about her miscarriage to help other families who have experienced similar losses and as a way of healing.
"I didn't want to hold this in," she said. "I wanted to share it for other people going through it and just be honest so I can kind of heal through the process."
Lauren and Mike, who married back in November 2018, previously spoke about their excitement about starting a family.
"We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations!" they told People in a statement back in September.
"We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life," they continued. "Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort. We truly believe that the comeback is always greater than the setback and we can't wait to show the world ours."
