Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino may be back in another reality show, but he's come a long way from his "Jersey Shore" days. Long gone is the grenade smushing, alcohol-addled star MTV fans came to know and sometimes love on the extremely popular series ... and he's definitely changed for the better.
The ab-tastic wonder stopped by toofab's studio to promote his new show, "The Sorrentinos," where he got incredibly candid about his sobriety, revealed how much he keeps in contact with the "Jersey" gang and gushed over his new girlfriend -- who he calls "the only girl I couldn't do without."
Sorrentino's TV Guide Network series gives fans a better look at his entire family, who played a big role on getting him cleaned up.
"The only thing that I didn't understand was how my sobriety affected my loved ones," Mike tells toofab. "I I still helped my family, I still took care of them. But it came time for them to approach me and tell me they were upset, it was hard for me to tackle that."
"But eventually, I was able to see where she [sister Melissa] was coming from and I'm 7 months free of alcohol and prescription drugs now and probably the healthiest I've been in a long time," he adds. "It'll be a year around Christmas time and that was one of the hardest things I've ever done."
"Going through Hollywood was a breeze compared to that," he exclaims.

"The Sorrentinos" premieres July 15 on TVGN at 10pm.
