Kim Kardashian has been open about wanting a second child with husband Kanye West -- and now we know why the couple is struggling to conceive.
In a sneak peek of Sunday's episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," the reality star reveals that she may only be able to have one more child due to complications from North West's birth.
"I just came from my fertility doctor, and they need me to go into surgery to clear out something in my uterus," she tells Kanye over the phone. Kim goes on to tell the rapper that because the placenta grew into her uterus, she will need to have emergency surgery after she gives birth a second time.
"A team of doctors will be waiting to remove [my] uterus ... because [I] can't bleed too much," she explains of the risks.
Even though she admits to having a tough pregnancy, Mrs. West says all the pain was worth it in the end.
"When I was pregnant with North, I used to tell everyone, 'There is no amount of money that anyone could pay me to go through this experience again,'" she says in a confessional interview. "And now, there is nothing more on this earth that I would want than to be pregnant again."
After weighing the risks, Kim decides to go under the knife for a preventative procedure.
Before she goes in for surgery, she admits that she doesn't want North and her next child to be too far apart. When Khloe Kardashian points out the fact that she is much younger than both of her sisters, Kim jokes that she "didn't start talking" to her younger sis until a few years ago.
"That's true," Khloe says with a laugh. "I did not know them, literally."
