Get ready to see an entirely new side of Sugar Bear.
While Mike Thompson was a lovable family man on TLC's now-canceled "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," a darker side will be revealed on the new season of "Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars" -- where he'll be forced to open up about cheating on his partner and baby mama, Mama June Shannon.
"People are gonna see a side of Sugar Bear they didn't see on 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,' June tells toofab. "I think the fans are gonna be shocked a little bit, people in the house were even shocked because they were fans of the show. I just told him to go in there and be open and honest, it's not a vacation."
"My biggest issues was my cheating," adds Sugar. "I've done that and shouldn't have and I look back on it, I regret it and I wanted to go to 'Marriage Boot Camp' and get the help that I need."
While initial reports on their split last year say June caught Mike trolling dating websites, Sugar tells us that it was "a lot more than internet chatting."
"It was really hurtful because one of it was a good friend of ours that we've known for quite some time," continues June, explaining how Honey Boo Boo's father had an affair with a co-worker's wife right under her nose. "The woman had been to dinner several times."
She adds that she knows some people were only interested in him for all the wrong reasons.
"I told him, a lot of times, people aren't liking you for Mike Thompson, they're liking you because, Sugar Bear, you're Honey Boo Boo's dad," she explains. "You gotta realize who's really there for you, and who's a fanatic and just wants to say 'Oh my god, I slept with Sugar Bear.'”
While most of the attention on the WE tv show will fall on Mike's infidelities, the show will also touch on June's rumored relationship with convicted sex offender Mark McDaniel. The family's TLC show was quickly canceled last year when June was linked to the man who allegedly molested her daughter, Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, when she was just a child.
"The truth will be revealed about that," June promises, adding that she even took a lie detector test on the subject. "I wasn't worried because I have nothing to hide. The truth will be revealed about everything. I had nothing to hide going in."
Though the two have made progress with their relationship, 15 days with Jim and Elizabeth Carroll didn't solve all their problems.
"We are still living separate. We see each other on the weekend and there's some things he still needs to work on," June tells us. "The trust is still not there 100%. I still tell him, in the house you have to be honest no matter what the consequences are."
"Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars" kicks off December 4 at 9pm on WE tv.
