Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa just filed for divorce after 10 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, TMZ reports exclusively.
They were very young when they met; Kobe was 21 and Vanessa was a 17-year-old high school senior. They were engaged in May 2000 and wed in April 2001. They have two daughters, Natalia and Gianna.
Their marriage weathered Kobe's sexual assault scandal in 2003, when a 19-year-old hotel employee accused the NBA star of raping her. Kobe admitted to having a sexual encounter with her but denied the assault. The criminal case was dropped after the employee refused to testify, but a settlement was reached in a separate civil trial.
Kobe famously bought Vanessa a $4 million, 8-carat purple diamond ring during the scandal. The couple does not have a pre-nup.
