If you're one of the three people who didn't go see "The Avengers" this weekend, stop reading (and go see it!) immediately.
But if you did see it ... we're guessing some of you may have a few questions about one of the two scenes in the credits.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
After the Avengers went their separate ways at the end of the movie, the guy commanding the Chitauri army was revealed ... and no, that wasn't Hellboy!
The purple dude is Thanos and it's safe to bet he's going to be the big bad guy whenever "Avengers 2" makes it to the big screen.
So ... who is Thanos?
Well, according to the Marvel Universe Wikipedia (the "definitive" source for Marvel bios) Thanos is also known as "The Mad Titan" -- and he's a pretty nasty guy.
One arc from the Avengers comics finds him searching for the Cosmic Cube (aka The Tesseract) and harnessing its power to turn himself into a god to impress Death, who appears to him as a gorgeous woman.
Another popular storyline from the comics has him wiping out "half of the universe's population" with the Infinity Gauntlet ... which was briefly seen in Odin's treasure room in "Thor."
Both stories have him facing off against The Avengers and seem like possible routes for the inevitable sequel to take.
Before "Avengers 2" happens though, there will be another "Iron Man," "Captain America," "Thor" and even a potential "Hulk" film. No word on if Thanos will appear in any of those films as well.
