"CSI: NY" star AJ Buckley just finished an emotional trip through Israel -- one that ended with him getting a brand new tattoo.
Buckley, who plays Adam Ross on the CBS show, traveled to the country on a trip organized by Israel's Ministry of Tourism.
We're told Buckley's father, who passed away in December, had always wanted to visit the country -- so AJ used the trip as an opportunity to spread his ashes throughout Israel.
At the end of his tour, Buckley decided to get a tattoo (above) in Hebrew to honor his dad. The ink reads: "I lay my father to rest on the Rock of Calvary," which is in Jerusalem.
Joining AJ on the trip were costar Carmine Giovinazzo, Carmine's wife Vanessa Marcil and "CSI: Miami" stars Omar Benson Miller and Jonathan Togo.
