Jean-Claude Van Damme was one of the biggest action stars of the '80s and '90s -- and today, JCVD turns 52!
Nicknamed "The Muscles from Brussels," Van Damme started his career as a martial artist before parlaying his skills into a successful stint as an film star.
After breaking into the business with "Bloodsport" in 1987, he'd go on to star in flicks like "Cyborg," "Double Impact," "Universal Soldier," "Street Fighter" and (our personal favorite) "Timecop."
Though he fell off everyone's radar for a while in the early '00s, he returned with a vengeance (and critical acclaim) for his work in "JCVD."
Van Damme was most recently seen alongside other former action stars like Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and Arnold Schwarzenegger in this summer's "Expendables 2."
But how have they all aged since their gun-toting heydays? Check out the gallery above to see how Rambo, The Terminator, Dirty Harry, Indiana Jones, John McClane and other action stars have changed through the years.
