Back in the late 80s and early 90s, Val Kilmer was one of the hottest actors around.
The birthday boy, who turns 53 today, was on a hot streak from 1986-1995 ... with movies like "Top Gun," "True Romance," "Willow," "Tombstone," "The Doors" and "Batman Forever."
He's definitely fallen off the radar lately, but we were surprised to see how good he looked at an event earlier this month (right).
While he's made more headlines recently thanks to his fluctuating weight, the actor will appear in Terrence Malick's upcoming, still-unnamed flick with Rooney Mara, Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and Michael Fassbender.
Not bad company!
