The second audition stop "American Idol" was Chicago.
The Windy City had more than its fair share of strong singers, and also sob stories.
Here are our favorite Chicago contestants:
1. Gabe Brown
Gabe brought some much needed personality and rock 'n roll to the competition, and some treats (somehow we don't think the judges ended up eating the baker's cookies though):
2. Isabelle Parell
The sweet 15-year-old with an even sweeter voice got Keith Urban to sing a duet with her and reminded Nicki Minaj of "Taylor" (we assume Taylor Swift):
3. Ashley Curry
The musical theater student got Mariah Carey out of her chair, but not in the way you think. Ashley is the first contestant this season to actually be escorted out:
4. Kez Ban
The street musician and self-proclaimed "fire performer" was one of the most original singers we've seen in a few seasons. Mariah really digged Kez's original song and so did we. Listen:
5. Lazaro Arbos
It seemed that everyone had a sob story to tell, and they began to feel gimmicky, before Lazaro took the stage. The Cuban immigrant has struggled with stuttering all his life, but his stammer disappeared when he sang "Bridge Over Troubled Waters." Watch his inspiring audition below:
Chicago also had a lot of guy candy, much to Nicki's delight. In this bonus clip, check out the hip-hop star checking out Chicago's finest.
