Stephen has been enlisting this summer's biggest musicians to perform on the show for his "StePhest Colbechella," and when the electropop group backed out last minute due to MTV contractual obligations -- the host not only put on one awesome performance, but shared one giant spoiler.
"You see, we booked Click and Clack over here about a month ago," Colbert revealed. “Apparently — and this is a deeply guarded secret, so shhh! — Daft Punk are going to make a surprise appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards — spoiler alert. Don't tell anybody, because fun fact: No one told me until two o' clock yesterday," the host explained on the "Colbert Report."
But the hilarious dance party wasn't the only surprise up Stephen's sleeve, Robin Thicke took Daft Punk's place and performed his summer hit "Blurred Lines."
