Are you ready for even more Hercules?
Though Kellan Lutz's "The Legend of Hercules" fizzled at the box office back in January, another film revolving around the Greek hero will hit theaters in July ... and this one's got The Rock.
Dwayne Johnson stars in director Brett Ratner's take on the mythic character, and the just-released trailer definitely shows fans what they want to see: The title character kicking serious ass, taking on massive animals and mythological creatures and showing off his massive muscles.
The film costars John Hurt, Ian McShane and Irina Shayk, so he's in pretty good company.
"We wanted to really pay homage & honor Greek mythology while making a movie that was grounded, had heart and was bad ass," Johnson said of the movie during a Twitter Q&A earlier today. It was an honor to make #HERCULESMovie and so damn cool to play "The world's first superhero, HERCULES."
But while the actor has had success in franchises like "Fast & Furious" and "G.I. Joe," will this film solidify his draw as a solo star too?
We'll see when the film hits theaters July 25.
