"Real Housewives of Orange County" newbie Shannon Beador took a romantic trip with her husband David Beador on last night's episode ... but the getaway was almost ruined when David made a backhanded compliment to his wife of 13 years.

The couple have definitely made a splash on the show -- the two regularly bicker on the reality series and it definitely seems like their marriage might be on the rocks.
But David did get something right. After discussing Shannon's chest "enhancement" at dinner, he covered their hotel room in rose pedals which brought the blonde beauty to tears.
We also met fellow newbie Lizzie Rovsek last night, and it sure seems like the brunette bombshell will be mixing things up this season. Plus, she already has a friendly rapport with Tamra Judge's hubby Eddie Judge.
