Someone got slap-happy on the set of "The Duff."
Hitting theaters this weekend, the film chronicles the relationship ups and downs of a high school misfit (Mae Whitman) labeled the "Designated Ugly Fat Friend" of her peers.
With a Queen Bee (Bella Thorne) ruling the school and a hot jock next door (Robbie Amell), tensions and hormones run high ... leading to some epic putdowns, ridiculous lip-locks and someone getting smacked in the face.
"It was about halfway through [our makeout scene] and I was like 'It would be pretty funny it you slapped me,'" Amell says. "Bella was like 'YEAH it would!' First time, she hit me so hard, it was like 'Fight Club.' She hit me right in the ear. Who hits in the ear?!"
"I feel like Robbie has been slapped by a lot of girls in his lifetime," jokes Thorne. "Robbie's a good guy," Whitman adds. "It pains me to say it. It KILLS me, but Robbie is a good boy."
See what else the stars of the film had to say about those more intimate scenes as they sit down with toofab's Brian Particelli in the video above.
In an exclusive sneak peek clip from the film, we also get to see the fallout from an embarrassing prank orchestrated by Thorne's mean girl Madison.
After a video of Whitman's character goes viral, the students of Malloy High are punished dearly for bullying one of their own. Romany Malco's Principal Buchanon lays down "Internet Martial Law" as Mr. Filmore (Chris Wylde) relishes in his students' despair.
"The Duff" hits theaters tomorrow.
