Carrie Bradshaw and her Manolo Blahniks might make their way back to the big screen for a third "Sex and the City" flick ... but don't hold your breath.
Sarah Jessica Parker addressed long-standing movie rumors on "Today" this morning, admitting, “There is a story, when or if we tell it remains unknown.”
While she says creator Michael Patrick King “knows the story we might tell," there is no official decision whether Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte will reunite for another film ... or even serious discussions about it.
SJP added it's a "not often had conversation," explaining, "the real truth, and I'm not being cagey, is we have not discussed a when."
"Sex and the City" first aired on HBO in 1998 and ended six seasons later in 2004. Following the life of four best friends in NYC, the series took the world by storm, winning several Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. The series also inspired two record breaking feature films, "Sex and the City” (2008) and "Sex and the City 2" (2010).
When Matt Lauer asked if her responses meant a third movie was on the "back burner," SJP added, "there's no oven, no table that it sits on ... no burners.”
"It's a hard question to answer because everyone reads and projects so much into what I say," Parker explained.
Maybe that's because "Sex and the City 2" left us all a little disappointed. A third film is exactly what we need to recover!
