We're finally getting a more personal look at Amal Clooney!
The 37-year-old human rights lawyer sat down with NBC News' Cynthia McFadden for her first American TV interview -- and while she wasn't there to talk about her famous hubby George Clooney, she did admit that her instant fame has helped her shed light on causes she cares about.
"I think it's wonderful that celebrities would choose to spend their time or energy or the spotlight that they have to raise awareness about these causes," she explained "I don't really see myself in the same way because I'm still doing the same job that I used to before. If there's more attention paid for whatever reason to that, then I think that's good."
"I think there is a certain amount of responsibility that comes with that," she added. "And I think I'm exercising it in an appropriate manner by continuing to do this kind of work."
The attorney is hard at work on her current legal battle as she works to free her client Mohamed Nasheed, who was president of the Maldives before he was forced out and locked up with a 13-year sentence for a terrorism charge.
Amal has already met with several members of Congress including Senator John McCain and Senator Patrick Leahy, who have agreed to help her fight the case and are considering taking serious action.
