"The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" is all everybody's talking about this morning -- including one of the trial's key players!
Prosecutor Marcia Clark just did her first live television interview in years on Wednesday, appearing on "The View" to give her honest reaction to the FX series' premiere and Sarah Paulson's portrayal of her.
"I think it's amazing," she told the panel. "I can't watch it the way most people do. For me, it's reliving a nightmare. It's a very painful experience, but that's a measure of how good [the show] is. They're getting the big stuff so right, they really nailed the racial issue in the biggest way possible."
As for Paulson's performance, the "American Horror Story" alum is getting nothing but rave reviews.
"I got the gift of all time being played by Sarah Paulson," Clark continued. "She's amazing. What a beautiful nuanced subtle performance, she's just phenomenal. For nothing else, watch for her performance."
The actress and lawyer actually met after Paulson had done the majority of filming -- and it was an experience Clark definitely enjoyed.
"I was a little afraid, they say don't meet your heroes, but she surpassed all expectations," Marcia explained. "It was the best time, we closed the restaurant down!"
While the show will certainly popularize interest in the high-profile case once more, Clark also said she hopes viewers "not forget two innocent people were murdered." "That painful reality, we shouldn't forget," she added.
Since the trial wrapped over 20 years ago, Clark released a book about the case, started writing fiction and even appeared on a 2013 episode of "Pretty Little Liars." Her fifth novel, "Blood Defense," is due out in May.
