Apparently, acting can be dangerous for your health!
Sarah Paulson -- who stars as Marcia Clark in "American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson" -- stopped by "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Thursday, where she revealed that she developed a bit of a smoking addiction while filming the show.
Though the 41-year-old is not a smoker in real life, she was asked to participate in Clark's smoking habit to accurately portray her on the show.
"I don't smoke at all in life," Paulson told Colbert.
"How do you do that?" Colbert asked. "I put it in my mouth and I inhale it," she sarcastically explained.
"You can actually do that? You can get it into your lungs?" Stephen pried.
"I can. When we first started I was coughing a lot, eventually I started to be like....I was ready for a smoke," Paulson confessed. "I was like, 'Hey, hey!' It got me a little crazy for the ciggies. I also smoke in 'American Horror Story' and I was shooting them at the same time so it was a real situation."
Sarah also noted the double standard Clark faced in the courtroom.
"She was considered to be a strident, really aggressive attorney," Paulson explained. "If she was a man, these would be positive terms. No one would talk about his bad suit or his bad hair."
