Anne Hathaway is embracing her post-baby bod—and encouraging other mothers to do the same.
The Oscar-winning actress, who gave birth to a baby boy in April, took to Instagram to share an empowering, body-positive message.
"There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever)," the 33-year-old wrote. "There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all)."
Hathaway's post featured a picture of her jeans that she'd cut into a pair of cutoffs—a move that she explained was in keeping with her decision to reject the notion that women have to shed their post-baby weight ASAP.

"There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer's are just too dang short for this summer's thighs," she went on to explain. "Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink. It's all love (don't let anyone tell you otherwise.)"
The first-time mother opened up to Ellen Degeneres shortly after giving birth about experiencing body-shaming from a trainer during her first post-baby trip to the gym.
"So I say to this guy I had a baby seven weeks ago," she told the host. "And he goes, 'Oh, trying to lose the baby weight!'"
She confessed the experience made her leave the gym in tears -- and avoid going back in the weeks that followed.
We're glad to see she's now taking things at her own pace, and can't wait to see her rock her cutoffs this summer!
