This year's most-talked about show is coming back for round two ... in 2017.
While a second season of "Stranger Things" was pretty much a guarantee after the first one performed so well for Netflix, the streaming service confirmed the news today with a brand new video.
The clip, which looks just like the title treatment for the series and is set to its synth-heavy theme music, flashes what appear to be titles for the next 9 episodes ... one more than we got in Season One.
"Madmax," "The Boy Who Came Back to Life," "The Pumpkin Patch," "The Palace," "The Storm," "The Pollywog," "The Secret Cabin," "The Brain" and "The Lost Brother" all appear on the screen, along with the message, "In the fall of 1984, the adventure continues."
The first season kicked off in November 1983, so it looks like the new episodes will pick up a year later.
The finale ended with a few threads dangling, as we were left wondering what happened to Eleven after she killed the Demagorgan and vanished. We also saw Will cough up a nasty looking slug, while seeing visions of the Upside-Down, making us concerned that he brought something back with him.
The Duffer Brothers also promised "justice" for fan favorite Barb ... though don't expect her to return.
"I can't see it happening" Matt Duffer told IGN about her character possibly coming back. "But Barb will not be forgotten. We'll make sure there's some justice for Barb. People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn't seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We're just not spending any screen time on it."
"Part of what we want to do with hypothetical Season 2 is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened," he added, before the show was picked up.
Duffer also teased that we haven't seen the last of Matthew Modine's Brenner, who was seen getting attacked by the monster in the finale. "I would say that if we were going to kill Brenner, as an audience member watching the show, if that was his death, that would be very unsatisfying to me," he explained. "He would deserve much more than that as an ending. So yes, there's a possibility of seeing him again."
