Just minutes after President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey Tuesday night, Trevor Noah taped "The Daily Show" and unloaded on the news.
"Wow. Trump fired the FBI Director. You can't just fire the FBI Director," Noah said. "If he's gone, who's going to investigate Russia's ties to -- oh..."
The comedian compared Trump to an African dictator in the past and joked last night that even those oppressed by such violent leaders would be worried about the President. "I know we said Trump was an African Dictator, but even Africans are watching this right now going, 'Yo, yo, yo, yo, Donald Trump does not f--k around.'"
Trump Fires FBI Director Comey And Hollywood Twitter Is Going Nuts
View StoryBecause the news of Comey's firing was so fresh, Noah ensured viewers that "The Daily Show" would cover the story further on Wednesday night, after he figured out why exactly Comey was let go and other significant details surrounding the case.
"There's no other way to describe it, it's a masterstroke," Noah said. He then read the letter from Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who said the reason Comey was fired was because of the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails.
"This is insane," Noah said. "Do you understand the excuse Trump is giving? Trump is basically saying he's doing this because of what Comey did to Hillary. That is the most gangsta excuse I've ever heard."
In his mock Donald Trump voice, Noah concluded POTUS was probably thinking something along the lines of, "I am doing this to clear my good friend, Crooked Hillary, because James Comey, folks, Comey clearly just wanted to lock her up, lock her up, lock her up."

View Story"The Comey firing makes sense, " Noah said, noting that this comes just a day after former acting Attorney General Sally Yates testified in front of the Senate about Michael Flynn's ties to Russia. Noah played a clip from the hearing, in which Yates said, "To state the obvious, you don't want your national security adviser compromised by the Russians."
"Yeah, I'm just going to put it out there and say you don't want anything compromised by the Russians," Noah said. "No one wants to add the Russians to anything, there's no situation where anyone says, 'You know what this birthday party needs? Russian Influence!'"

View StoryAfter noting that both Barack Obama and Sally Yates had warned President Trump about Flynn's ties to Russia, Noah concluded, "Look, no one knows for sure how deep the Trump Russia ties go, what we do is every single time the subject of Russia comes up, Trump gets nervous and you can tell he's nervous, because he tweets -- a lot."
"That's basically his tell," Noah joked. "Like if you're every playing poker with Trump, just check his Twitter, that's all you gotta do."
