The opinion host, who dedicates a lot of air time to railing against liberals and Hollywood for being so liberal, complimented the "Downsizing" star his family values and philanthropy.

View Story"In a place where Harvey Weinstein was long considered a moral leader, Matt Damon stands out," Carlson argued in wake of the actor getting bashed for recent comments about the sexual misconduct problem that has been plaguing Hollywood and beyond for decades. Damon has been getting flack for expressing his opinion that sexual harassment should be conflated with rape or molestation.
"There's a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right? Both of those behaviors need to be confronted and eradicated without question, but they shouldn't be conflated, right?" Damon said in an interview with ABC.
Damon's interview sparked criticism from actresses including Alyssa Milano and Minnie Driver, who co-starred with Damon in Oscar winner "Good Will Hunting," while nearly 24,000 people have signed a petition urging "Ocean's 8" producers to cut his cameo from the upcoming caper comedy.

He defended Damon's words by saying, "There's not a single sentiment in that entire paragraph that is not defensible or that 90 percent of the American population would find over-the-top or outrageous."
