"The great Michael Sheen and I consciously uncoupled over Christmas. I mean, not 'over Christmas' -- like that wasn't the fight that ended it. No fight. We just live in different countries and it got hard," she tweeted. "Felt we should just tell y'all so you stop askin', 'How's Michael/How's Sarah?'"
Sheen, who is based in the U.K., and Silverman were together for about four years. The former couple met on the set of Showtime's "Master of Sex."
"He really classes me up and I pull him right down to my level, unfortunately for him," Silverman said on "Inside the Actors Studio" a year into their relationship.
"I'm so happy to have him be a part of my life and to get to be a part of his life," Silverman also revealed in an interview with fellow ex-boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel. "I don't think I ever really knew what love was."
During their relationship, Silverman also became close friends with Sheen's ex, Kate Beckinsale. Sheen and Beckinsale share daughter Lily.
"I really love [Silverman] as well, and we are really lucky that we both get on, and Lily gets on great with her," Beckinsale once said in an interview with ES Magazine. "Having as many strong females in your teenage daughter's life as possible is a good thing."
