Sorry, #Falice shippers, but even with Hal Cooper out of the picture, it won't be smooth sailing for Alice Cooper and FP Jones in Season 3 of "Riverdale."
Mädchen Amick threw fandom into a frenzy last week, after she posted a photo from the set pointing out a new rock on her ring finger, following it up with a shot of her with Skeet Ulrich. With Hal behind bars after confessing to being the Black Hood, what's the story behind that sparkler?
TooFab caught up with the duo at Comic-Con over the weekend, putting them on the spot about the suspicious sparkler.
"I don't know, what was that? When I did that too, [Skeet] was like, 'You just cause a lot of trouble,'" said Amick. "I do, I do. It's a replacement ring that used to once hold a wedding band to Hal, but clearly she had to get rid of that. She replaced it with something. I don't know where she got it."
"I don't know either," Ulrich coyly added, "or maybe I do."
When asked if FP's estranged wife might pop up to possibly give Alice some competition, Amick wouldn't confirm or deny, instead saying both characters "have things that might disrupt the ships that are heading towards each other."
"There are definitely going to be some speed bumps along the way," added Ulrich, before Amick joked, "There are no smooth roads in 'Riverdale.' They clearly need to repave the entire town!"
Liv Tyler and Neve Campbell Take Over 'WWHL': 'Wild Things' Sex Scene, 'Riverdale' Rumors and Steve Tyler's Thongsn
View StoryOne name Ulrich floated out there to play FP's ex was his former "Scream" costar, Neve Campbell. When asked about the casting idea on "Watch What Happens Live" last week, Campbell said she heard he put her name out there, but has yet to call her with more details.
"I'll text her right now," said Ulrich. "Text her a picture of me," Amick chimed in, adding that Alice could take her. "I'm scrappy!"
Something else that could drive a possible wedge between the two: the cult teased in the Season 2 finale and new trailer for Season 3. During the show's Hall H panel on Sunday, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed the "farm" where Polly got help is indeed a cult, run by a man named Edgar Evernever. The group was inspired by the Rajneeshpuram compound in "Wild Wild Country."
A shot in the trailer above shows Polly (Tiera Skovbye) and Alice holding up twins Juniper and Dagwood in some freaky-looking ritual. So, has Alice drank the Kool-Aid?
"I think where we ended up in Season 2, there was this alluring thing Polly was presenting to Alice," Amick teased. "Alice was in a broken place, so she's kind of open to try new stuff and see if something can heal her and she may be doing down a treacherous path."
That's when Ulrich challenged his on-screen love interest to show off her best "crazy eyes" -- see them in the video above.
"Riverdale" returns to The CW on October 10, 2018.
