Tamera Mowry-Housley and husband Adam Housley have confirmed their niece was killed in the shooting.

A representative for the couple released the following statement: "Our hearts are broken. We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night's shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks. Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner. We thank everyone for your prayers and ask for privacy at this time."

Tamera Mowry-Housley and her husband Adam Housley searched for information regarding their missing niece after the mass shooting in Southern California Wednesday night.

Housley arrived at the Los Robles Regional Medical Center around 3:30 a.m. this morning looking for his niece, 18-year-old Pepperdine freshman Alaina Housley, according to the Los Angeles Times. Alaina is believed to have been at Thousand Oaks' Borderline Bar & Grill when the shooter opened fire slaying 12 innocent people.

"My gut is saying she's inside the bar, dead," he told the LA Times. "I'm hoping I'm wrong."

The publication also reported that Alaina's Apple Watch and iPhone both indicated that her location was still on the dance floor at the site of the shooting.

Housley said his niece had been at the bar with classmates when the shooting occurred. Two of her friends were able to escape by jumping through a broken window, they are currently being treated at the hospital with severe injuries.

Alaina's classmates told Housley they'd lost his niece in the chaos of the shooting.

Housley told the Times: "She's an amazing girl. I know you always hear those things."

The former Fox News correspondent has previously covered mass shootings in his career as a television reporter.

"You just don't think that — same stupid quote — you just don't think it's going to happen to you," he said.

Tamera and Housley took to social media in an effort to locate their niece early Thursday morning.

Tamera responded on Twitter to one classmate, who wrote: "My suitemate is still missing, she is wearing denim shorts, a blue flannel and sneakers, pls let me know if you know anything #Borderline".

"Ashely this is her aunt Tamera Mowry Housley," Tamera replied. "Can you please DM me your information?"

However, one Twitter user used the tragic circumstances to dig at Housley: "Gee I wonder if @adamhousley has any regrets about his stoking hate on @FoxNews now that HIS ox has been gored."

"I was waiting for the assholes to appear. Please do me a favor and introduce yourself in person and see what the result will be," Housley responded.

At least 12 are dead this morning after the mass shooting in Thousand Oaks late Wednesday evening.

The establishment was hosting its weekly College Country Night packed with students when, around 11:20PM, a gunman dressed in all black opened fire. The gunman, who was identified as 28-year-old David Ian Long, died on the scene.

Ventura County Sheriff's Sergeant Ron Heuls was one of the first responders and was met by gunfire. He died at the hospital, leaving behind a wife and son.

"I have been fully briefed on the terrible shooting in California. Law Enforcement and First Responders, together with the FBI, are on scene. 13 people, at this time, have been reported dead," Donald Trump tweeted on Thursday morning. "Likewise, the shooter is dead, along with the first police officer to enter the bar....Great bravery shown by police. California Highway Patrol was on scene within 3 minutes, with first officer to enter shot numerous times. That Sheriff's Sergeant died in the hospital. God bless all of the victims and families of the victims. Thank you to Law Enforcement."
