Ariana says she was just trying to "talk some sense" into the controversial journalist.
Twitter users put Ariana Grande's feet to the fire Thursday night after she appeared to reconcile with controversial journalist Piers Morgan.
The "Thank U, Next" singer told her Twitter followers on Wednesday that she and the prominent Brit had run into each other at a restaurant the night before and attempted to hash out their issues, following a clash last November that included Piers throwing shade at Ellen DeGeneres and Little Mix.
Ariana Grande and Piers Morgan Finally End Their Feud Over Drinks
View StoryAfter a few drinks (according to Piers) and a long impromptu conversation the former rivals both said they had buried the hatchet, at least on a personal level, in separate tweets.
This left a number of Grande's followers feeling disappointed, as the apparent reconciliation seemed a bit frivolous to them in light of Piers' many controversial public opinions on a variety of issues.
One critic simply wrote in reply to the apparent harmony, "He literally bodyshamed little mix.. Ari sweetie".
Grande responded: "and we spoke about that... i am a peaceful but passionate person and i will kindly say everything on my mind to a person's face if i have the chance. which i did. i don't understand what is so evil about having conversations w people. in what world did i excuse what he has said?"

The criticism did not end there. "Ariana's complacency is especially disappointing for this exact reason," another Twitter user wrote, "It's totally okay for him to dehumanize everyone else as long as they're able to humanize each other. Super radical and groundbreaking."
Grande was not having it, and replied: "nah, i was anything but complacent in our conversation that none of u heard. it saddens me that u'd assume that just because i have hope that a person can change. i won't stop having conversations w people i disagree w when i see the opportunity to. hope u would've done the same."
One fan, however, came to her defense, writing, "i love you sm ignore them mama" the hitmaker replied, explaining, "nah it's just important to me. i'm not tryna be misunderstood when it's of this much importance tbh."

She wrote back: "like.... do people think i think i succeeded and that i'm some kind of f--king miracle worker? f--k no. are u all insane? bruh i just wanted to try. and speak my mind. i try my best to have faith in people. as hard as it is. anyway....... goodnight."

@ArianaGrande
So... we bumped into each other in a LA restaurant, she joined me for 'a chat' & 2 hours later we were still chatting. We laughed, we argued, she cried, I nearly did, the drinks flowed & we bonded. Turns out we really like each other. Weird. Thank u @ArianaGrande - next? pic.twitter.com/pNJ7pDi0at
