"I have other very diverse friends that are not featured on the show," adds Montag.
Cue the online eye rolls.
"The Hills" star Heidi Montag certainly got people talking about her on Twitter this week, thanks to her answer when asked whether she wishes there was "a little more diversity represented" on her MTV show.
The reality TV star sat down with Vogue for an online feature, where she was interviewed in the home she shares with Spencer Pratt. If there was any doubt it's their place, look no further than the giant portraits of the couple hanging on the wall behind her in the video.

View Story"Do you wish that there was a little more diversity represented?" the publication's reporter is heard asking Montag, who's seated with one of her dogs on an oversized leather couch.
"We don't all look the same ... I mean, Audrina [Patridge] has darker hair. I feel like Mischa has darker hair," she responded.
"But yeah, we're California girls and it's a group of friends and that just happens to be the group that came together, that's just the way the show was," she continued. "I have other very diverse friends that are not featured on the show."
No surprise, but people online weren't thrilled with her answer -- see the video in the first tweet below:

Elsewhere in the video, newcomer to the show Mischa Barton also says the "interesting thing" about the show is how it's populated with people from "all different walks of life."
The summer revival also stars Whitney Port, Adurina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Spencer and Stephanie Pratt, Frankie Delgado, Jason Wahler and Justin Bobby. Sitting this one out: OG faves Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad.
We reached out to Montag to see if she wanted to respond to some of the backlash or expand upon her answer to the question, but didn't immediately hear back.
