Gang Leader Busted Escaping Jail Disguised as His Teen Daughter

A Brazilian gang leader made an audacious jail escape bid on Saturday disguised as his daughter.

Clauvino da Silva was caught wearing a skinny jeans, a pink Disney T-shirt, a black bra, a silicon mask and a long black wig as he tried to sneak out of Rio de Janeiro's Gericinó prison.

The convicted drug trafficker, who is serving 73-years for his involvement with the notorious Red Command gang, attempted to switch places with his 19-year-old daughter during visiting hours.

Prison guards saw through the disguise when "she" began acting suspiciously after asking for "her" ID card back when leaving the jail.

Da Silva — aka "Shorty" — was ordered to strip, and the leaked video of him removing his ridiculous disguise has since gone viral around the world.

The criminal was mocked relentlessly by local media; tabloid Meia Hora ran a front page picture story asking if "White Chicks 2" was coming to cinemas soon.

The 42-year-old was moved to a high security wing after the attempt, but is reportedly unlikely to face further punishment since no violence was involved.

His daughter Ana Gabriele Leandro da Silva however, who was left behind at the prison, could face charges of abetting prison escape, a crime that carries a sentence of up to two years. Seven other visitors, including a pregnant woman who is believed to have smuggled the disguise inside – are also being investigated.

Da Silva previously made a slightly more successful escape bid in 2013, when he was among 31 inmates who managed to tunnel out of the same prison via the sewers; he was eventually recaptured a month later.
