In an interview with WSJ magazine, the 47-year-old actor, who wed his longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian back in August, recalled having some reservations about getting married again after his divorce from Dany Garcia in 2008.
"My divorce did a number on me," Johnson said. "I wasn't fearful of getting married again, there was just some hesitancy. But Lauren was incredibly patient: 'I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together -- no presh.'"
The "Jumanji: The Next Level" star opened up about meeting Hashian, a singer and a music producer, back in 2006 when he was filming "The Game Plan." The couple started dating in 2007.
"Within 30 seconds, I thought, 'Wow, this girl's stunning,'" he recalled. "At the time, I was going through my breakup with Dany and [Hashian] was just coming off a big breakup, too."
He added, "Ironically, when you're not looking for something, the power of the universe kind of takes over."
Johnson and Hashian tied the knot in August after over a decade of dating. The couple said "I do" in an intimate ceremony in Johnson's home state of Hawaii.
The "Fast & Furious" star announced his marriage at the time by sharing sweet images from the wedding.
"We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii. Pōmaika'i (blessed) @laurenhashianofficial❤️@hhgarcia41📸," Johnson captioned the post, which included photos of the couple holding hands and sharing a kiss at sunset.
The pair share two daughters: Jasmine, 3, and Tiana Gia, 1. Johnson also has an 18-year-old daughter, Simone, from his marriage to Garcia.
