Wendy asks of surrogacy: "So what happens, you grab the baby and leave her bleeding and dismiss her?"
Wendy Williams sure has some interesting thoughts about surrogates.
The talk show host opened Wednesday's episode by talking about Kim Karadshian and Kanye West's newborn baby girl, who was welcomed via surrogate on Tuesday morning. The baby was born at 12:47 a.m. and weighed in at 7 lbs. 6 oz.
Though Kardashian said she and her husband were "incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give," Wendy said they could have coughed up some more money when it came to paying the woman.
According to TMZ, the couple paid $45k for the surrogate. "So when you're a surrogate, what happens?" asked Wendy. "$45,000, which is not a lot of money for the situation."
"So what happens, you grab the baby and leave her bleeding and dismiss her?" she continued, eliciting shock from her audience. "No, seriously."
Williams then wondered if the woman will find a way to profit off the birth. "Will she write a book? Will she start selling stories? Will she give some to Hot Topics?" she said with a laugh. "'Kim called me every night, Kanye called me every hour, they insisted I only eat beyond burgers, salads, out of a plastic container like they do on the show,'" she added.
While no name has been revealed for North and Saint's little sister just yet, Wendy had one in mind there as well.
"I like the name Wild. Wild West," she said. "This is a baby who, if they do their money correctly, she will never have to work a day in her life or apply for a job like me and you. When we have to apply for jobs, you need a normal name. Although, if I got an application here at Wendy and her name was Wild West, I'd be like, bring her to the dance floor immediately. I need to meet her."
