More Hollywood Deaths In 2018

"Being able to hold your hand, lay with you and cuddle you, give you kisses all over your cheeks and forehead, meant more to me than you'll ever know," she said of their final moments together.

Michael Jackson's only daughter, Paris Jackson, mourned the loss of her grandfather on Wednesday afternoon after the Jackson family patriarch passed away at the age of 89.

Taking to her Instagram page, the 20-year-old paid tribute to "The HAWK" by sharing an image of the two of them holding hands inside what appears to be a hospital room, along with photos of Joe Jackson through the years.

"Spending those last few moments with you were everything," she captioned the photo collection. "Being able to tell you everything i needed to tell you before saying goodbye was such a blessing. Everyone that came to visit you, came with love, respect, and so much pride in their hearts for you. Proud of you, proud to be your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, proud to have your strength and share the dynasty you spent your life creating, and proud to be a Jackson."

"You are the first true Jackson. The legend that started it all. None of us would be anywhere near where we're at if it weren't for you. You are the strongest man I know," she continued. "Your life's work will go down in history, as will you, to be known as one of the greatest patriarchs to ever live. I will cherish every moment with you til the day I die, especially our last moments. Being able to hold your hand, lay with you and cuddle you, give you kisses all over your cheeks and forehead, meant more to me than you'll ever know."

"Quoting advice you gave me when I was a little kid and seeing your eyes light up, sharing stories my dad used to tell me about you, telling a joke and hearing you laugh for the last time," her post went on. "My heart is full knowing we left each other in that way. I made you promise me you'll come visit me. You agreed and I'm going to hold you to it. And I promised you that we will keep telling your story, over and over. To never be forgotten. My great grandchildren will know who Joseph Jackson is. I love you grandpa. So so so much that words can't describe. I have immense gratitude for you, and always will. We all feel that way. Thank you for everything. truly. Rest in peace and transition. I'll see you in my dreams very very soon."

After being hospitalized earlier this month for terminal pancreatic cancer, Jackson died Wednesday morning. Joe, 89, was the father of 11 children.

Daughter La Toya Jackson honored her late father with a tweet.

"I will always love you!," she wrote. "You gave us strength, you made us one of the most famous families in the world. I am extremely appreciative of that, I will never forget our moments together and how you told me how much you cared. #RIP Joe Jackson."

Similarly, Prince Jackson (son of Michael) posted a photo to his Instagram account in memorium of his late grandfather.

"This man is and always will be an example or (sic) sheer willpower and dedication," Prince captioned the pic. "He didn’t choose (sic) the path that was the easiest but he choose the path that was best for his family. You taught me to take pride in the Jackson name and what it really means, you taught me dedication in the face of adversity and most of all you showed me strength and fearlessness. There is and never will be someone like you. Fly free and until we meet again The Hawk."

However, Joe's grandson, Taj Jackson (his father is Toriano "Tito" Jackson), felt the need to defend the family patriarch on his Twitter account. His tweet appeared to reference long-standing media reports of Joe Jackson's alleged history of abuse in regards to Michael and some of his other children.

"Disgusted by some of the comments I'm reading about my grandpa Joe by those who didn't even know him," Taj wrote Wednesday. "Please don't just regurgitate what you were spoon fed by the press. Joe was loved by our ENTIRE family and our hearts are in pain. Let us grieve without the nastiness.#ripthehawk"

Taj went on to honor his father like LaToya with a series of tweets.

His cousin Randy Jackson Jr. (son of Randy Jackson) took to his Twitter to offer an homage to his late grandfather.

TJ Jackson (son of Tito Jackson) also posted on his Instagram.

"You did the unthinkable," he wrote. "You gave your all (and the prime years of your life) to make sure your kids and your family were a success. Some people will never understand the commitment and love it takes to do what you did. My life could have been so much different if it weren't for you." Read the full caption below.

You did the unthinkable. You gave your all (and the prime years of your life) to make sure your kids and your family were a success. Some people will never understand the commitment and love it takes to do what you did. My life could have been so much different if it weren’t for you. I could have been in a gang. I could have a father who was in and out of jail. But I don’t. Why? Because you were plugged into your kids lives and saw a dream that they (or even the world) didn’t know could exist. It took all of your strength to keep your entire family safe from the real dangers in life. You are misjudged but I know who the real you is. And as your grandson I am forever grateful for the strength I have from you. I will always remember what I’ve learned from you. I will always cherish you. Always. I love you grandpa. ❤️💪🏽 #ripgrandpa #forevergrateful #pioneer
