The film focuses on a medical engineer (Bullock) and an astronaut (Clooney) who must work together to survive in space after a major explosion leaves them floating through the galaxy with no control.
The movie is already generating rave reviews, and premiered at the Venice Film Festival's opening ceremony last week.
